Winter League Report
We had another exciting Winter seson, with mayn players brving the chilly nights to enjoy their favourite sport. Here is a quick rundown:
Division 2 had 4 teams competing. The final was played between Withenay and Stompers, seeing a close game. Withenay came through in the end to win12 points to 10. Disc Throw Inferno held 3rd spot over Blue Waffle Inferno.
Division 1 saw a change in format to a Kings & Queens league style. This concept allows for a new hat competition to occur each week with teams formed on the night with the people that are present. Points are awarded to individual players that are in the winning teams of the night (3 points for a win, 2 points for a draw, 1 point for a loss, 0 points if not participating). There were 6 rounds played this way. At the end of the sixth round points were collated and on the finals night teams were selected from the table in a snake pattern. Interesting after 6 weeks, there were 2 Princes (Luke Davies and Scott Mortimer) on equal points (12) and 1 princess (Rachel Sutton) on 11 points with 3 princesses (Amanda Hudson, Yvonne Hayes and Peta Milford) on 10 points. A count back in for and against saw Luke paired with Rachel competing against Scott paired with Yvonne as the challenges for the King and Queen titles. Each pair were allocated their team and the game commenced. The game was close with both teams exchanging the lead. In the end Luke and Rachel's vassal's were too strong and they rose to take on the King and Queen title for Winter 2012 - Congratulations to both Luke and Rachel.
