The club operates leagues throughout the year.
Whilst the club supports players from the Hills District, all players are welcome to league games.
I am new - where do I start?
Come on down to a league game (generally Wednesday nights at Eric Mobbs Reserve). Have a chat, watch a game, and have a throw.
What do I need?
Bring comfortable sports wear (e.g. tshirt and shorts - or long pants in winter). Teams will generally agree on a common colour for their shirt. Shoes can be simply joggers, but it is reccommended to wear shoes with cleats (as long as they do not have exposed metal) to give better grip in the ground. Also bring a water bottle as running can be thirsty!
I don't even know how to throw a disc :(
Come down to one of our training sessions. These generally run on Sunday afternoons throughout the year (watch the email mailing list for details) where players of all experience levels are welcome.
We also run Learn2Play sessions each Wednesday night through the Summer league season. These are specifically designed for people who have neveer played before, or only played 1-2 seasons. Our club coaches are on hand to teach you all the basic skills you need to play the sport.
And remember - all of our coaching sessions are free!
But I don't have a team!
In every league there is a "Players Looking For A Team" team for anyone who does not have a team. Put your name on this list so people can see that you are available and contact you (Captains often review this list when they need an extra player). For Division 3 due to the large number of players without a team the Division Coordinator will also proactively approach captains to find teams for players.
I am visiting from interstate / overseas
Pickup players are generally welcome. You can email the League Director or turn up on the night and we can try to find you a team. The exception is league finals, when pick-up players are generally not permitted. Do I need to pay straight away? If you want to try out our sport, you are welcome to play for a couple of weeks without payment. If you stay, then we ask that you sign up and pay. What is a "Washout Week"? There are occasions when play is not possible due to wet weather. Weeks are set aside when creating a draw for the season to allow for these missed games. Usually these weeks will be converted to replaying missed games from earlier in the season.
